This is Poppy. He lives just outside of Gander, Newfoundland. He is 80. He still builds houses, bakes and cleans, and is very competent on his laptop.
Favourtie quote: When teaching him new things about Facebook: “Stop now, you’re confusing me. Pretty soon I won’t know the Wall from the floor.”

Trying to pick a cafe in Salamanca Square, Hobart, we spotted what we thought was a large brown goat. Both the alpaca and her owner were very friendly, but we only cuddled and took loads of pictures with one of them.

We were crossing Rue St-Denis at Avenue du Mont-Royal when came across a man playing the accordion on the corner. We asked if we could take his photo; he smiled and said (in french): “Everyone wants to take my photo! Must be the music.”

This is my grandma. She is 84 years old and she has alzheimers. When I showed her the photographs she said: “who is that old woman?”

We met him crossing the road in Recoleta. Asked if we could take a photo of him and he was very obliging. It was tough because the sun was coming from behind; we wanted him to move so that we could get better light, but he couldn’t understand us and we couldn’t understand him and it seemed like he just really wanted to hold on to that pole and face that particular way. How do you say “this is my good side” in Spanish?

He was wandering around Recoleta near the cemetary with an old-fashioned (like 1920s old) camera selling potraits. He asked if he could take our picture and then we asked if we could take his.

“saw him in the lower east side sitting outside this little shop. went up to him because he had a cool hat, was smoking a cigar and had an eye patch. had to convince him to take a photo with the patch on – he wanted to take it off because he said he looked like the terminator. said he used to play the bongos at bluenote and that i should check it out.” – pitythecool
